Examination Policy
The examination system of the university is as following:
- For the students admitted up to academic year 2018-19, the scheme of examination is divided into two components: Continuous Internal Assessment and End Semester Examination. The weightage of internal assessment and end semester examination is of 40% and 60% respectively. The overall pass percentage is 40%.
- For the students admitted from academic year 2019-20, Continuous Assessment System is adopted. The pattern of examination is shown below.

- There are 10 marks for teacher assessment.
- The attendance requirement for appearing in the end semester examinations and term examinations is 75% of the classes actually held in the course.
The university follows the Grade Point Average (GPA) system. At the end of each semester, a student is awarded a Letter Grade in each of his / her chosen course. The letter grade represents the “grade point” as a measure of one’s performance level in a course.
The grade point so obtained are then used to compute the Semester Grade Point Average (SGPA) and Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA).
The standard grades followed by the University are:

University adopts a well balanced curriculum. It also has implemented Choice Based Credit System (CBCS) in order to encourage the students to learn subjects of other departments of their interest. Performance during the exams is analyzed on the basis of the of SGPA and CGPA. SGPA and CGPA will be calculated on the basis of grades earned during the semester.

SGPA / CGPA Calculation
There are two types of Grade Point Averages (GPA), which are:
- Semester Grade Point Average (SGPA)
- Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA)
While SGPA is a measure for a semester performance only, CGPA is a measure of performance up to any specified semester beginning from the first semester. Every student earns a distinct SGPA and a distinct CGPA at the end of each specified semester.
- CALCULATIONS OF SGPA FOR A SEMESTER
All the courses (except audit type and Non-Credit courses) for which a student has registered in the semester and awarded one of the A+, A, B+, B, C+, C and D grades in this semester are considered for computing SGPA.

Pi = Grade Point earned by the student in the course.
i = 1, 2, 3, …, m, represents the number of courses passed in that semester.
- CALCULATION OF CGPA UPTO A SEMESTER
All the courses (except audit type and Non-Credit courses) for which a student has registered upto that semester beginning from the first semester and awarded one of the A+, A, B+, B, C+, C & D grades are considered in computing the CGPA upto a specified semester.
